About the event
Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare’s most overtly political plays. Set in ancient Rome, it deals with dictatorship and resistance to it, charting the moment when Rome ceased to be a republic - a moment that had a decisive effect on European history. As nearly always with Shakespeare, the relevance could not be more contemporary. The casting is gender blind.
